The species described below, although long included in Microglossa, really belongs to the genus Aster, to which it was transferred by Handel-Mazzetti in 1938. Unfortunately this taxonomic change was overlooked when the previous edition was scrutinised with such intergeneric transfers in mind. The species is treated here under its familiar name, but it should in future be known as Aster albescens.
