The species described below is the sole member of the genus, which is endemic to Tasmania. The generic name refers to the glands at the summit of the carpels.
The genus is now considered to comprise two species – A. frankliniae in Tasmania only and A. euodiiformis (F. v. Muell.) T. G. Hartley in Queensland and New South Wales (Journ. Am. Arb., Vol. 58, pp. 171-81 (1977)).
